Abstract

Music is a phenomenon that deserves a careful study. It serves not only educational and developmental purposes when teaching a foreign language, but also the development of students' personality. The use of music is associated with the development of emotional intelligence; music has a positive effect on the aesthetic emotions of students and helps them to have ethical qualities, views and opinions. Different methods of using music in teaching a foreign language, however, are closely related to the diversity of teachers' approach to this issue. In our article, we investigated the attitude of teachers to the use of music in teaching a foreign language and how English teachers use music in their lessons. The goal of our research was to outline the various possibilities of using music in the process of learning a foreign language. According to our findings, music serves mainly as a motivating and relaxing aspect in foreign  language lessons.
