Abstract

The relevance of the problem of the development of arbitrary attention is due to several factors. Firstly, the modern world offers children a lot of information and various stimuli that can distract their attention. The rapidly changing technological environment, the saturation of various gaming and entertainment programs create constant challenges for the arbitrary attention of children. Secondly, the successful development of the program requires the ability to control your attention and switch between tasks. The lack of this skill can lead to difficulties in the child's learning and development. In the course of our research, we analyzed scientific, pedagogical, psychological, methodological literature, as well as the experience of educational psychologists and educators of preschool educational institutions, on the topic «Arbitrary attention of preschool children». An analysis of the literature has shown that arbitrary attention acts as an important mental process that affects the formation of personality in general and the success of learning in general. To conduct a study in the senior group № 4 «Bees» in the «Special (correctional) primary school – kindergarten № 2» in the city of Neryungri, we selected diagnostic methods aimed at identifying the level of arbitrary attention of preschoolers. This article describes in detail the results obtained during the experimental work carried out. Methods for the development of voluntary attention in children are also proposed.
