Abstract

This article examines the problem of information overload among students when using digital educational resources in the modern learning process. The main focus is on identifying factors that cause cognitive and emotional overload, as well as finding ways to optimize the digital educational environment. The article analyzes various types of digital resources (learning management systems, online courses, communication platforms) and proposes measures for their rationalization. The empirical basis was formed by the data of a pilot project at Kozma Minin Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University: a survey of 150 students, timing of the hours spent in digital channels, and a comparison of academic performance before and after the introduction of optimization measures. It was found that the optimal number of digital channels is three to four, whereas exceeding this threshold leads to increased fatigue and reduced productivity. It is shown that comprehensive measures implemented over one semester reduce the time spent in the digital environment, decrease the number of missed assignments, and increase the average grade. The article can be used by university teachers, educators and students seeking to effectively organize their learning activities in a digital environment.
