Pedagogical features of bilingual education management in higher education institutions

Abstract

Bilingual education in higher education is a comprehensive pedagogical system that requires specialized approaches to managing the educational process. Current trends in the internationalization of higher education actualize the need to develop effective management models for bilingual programs at universities. The research aims to identify the pedagogical features of bilingual education management in higher education institutions through the analysis of theoretical concepts and empirical data on the practical implementation of such programs. The methodological basis was a systematic analysis of scientific publications, a comparative analysis of international experience, and a survey of teachers and students of bilingual programs. The empirical base included data from a survey of 12 teachers and 62 students of bilingual programs in 3 universities of the Chechen Republic. The results showed that the effectiveness of bilingual education management is determined by the integration of linguistic and didactic and administrative approaches, while the key factors are the professional training of teaching staff, the adaptation of educational and methodological support and the creation of a supportive language environment. It was found that students of bilingual programs demonstrate 18% higher academic performance in specialized disciplines compared to monolingual programs, but they experience significant difficulties in mastering specialized terminology. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the systematization of pedagogical principles of bilingual education management in the context of higher education, the practical value is determined by the possibility of applying the developed recommendations to optimize existing and create new bilingual programs in Russian universities.
