Abstract

The article examines the current problem of integrating linguistic and cultural aspects into business English language training programs for students of language faculties. The authors substantiate the need for such an approach, emphasizing that in the context of globalization, successful professional communication requires not only a high level of language proficiency, but also a deep understanding of cultural norms, values, and communication patterns of partners from different countries. Standard methods, focusing mainly on vocabulary and grammar, are considered insufficient for the formation of full-fledged intercultural competence, which is confirmed by the difficulties of graduates in real business situations. The research is based on the analysis of curricula, surveys of students, teachers and representatives of the business community, as well as on the analysis of real and simulated business communication situations. Methods of observation, questionnaires, interviews, and statistical data processing were used. The results revealed a significant gap between the general level of language proficiency and culturally oriented competencies among students. A positive correlation was found between the advanced level of language and the success of cultural strategies, but it turned out to be moderate, indicating the need for targeted training in cultural linguistics. The key success factors are the use of authentic cases, project work, interactive formats (business games, negotiation modules) and consideration of industry specifics (finance, law, IT, marketing), where the degree of formality and the importance of cultural nuances vary significantly. The authors conclude that effective training of specialists requires the systematic inclusion of a linguistic and cultural component in educational programs. Strategies based on a combination of analysis of authentic materials, practice-oriented assignments, reflection on one's own cultural stereotypes, and constant monitoring of the formation of intercultural skills by teachers are recommended. Special attention is paid to the development of specialized methodological recommendations for various professional fields, taking into account their communicative characteristics and cultural sensitivity, necessary to prevent misunderstandings and ensure success in international business.
