Implementation of mixed and hybrid learning models in higher education institutions using the Linear Algebra course

Abstract
The relevance of the research topic is due to the need to improve the quality of higher education in the context of digitalization and the transition to new educational models. The purpose of this work is to develop and test an integrated approach to the implementation of mixed and hybrid learning models in universities using the example of the Linear Algebra course. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were solved:: 1) analysis of the theoretical foundations and best practices of using mixed and hybrid models; 2) development of a methodology for integrating these models into the Linear Algebra course; 3) experimental verification of the effectiveness of the proposed approach. The methodological basis of the study was system analysis, pedagogical design, and statistical methods of data processing. The empirical study was conducted on the basis of three Russian universities (n=248). The following main results were obtained: 1) a typology of mixed and hybrid learning formats has been developed, taking into account the specifics of mathematical disciplines; 2) a methodology for designing the Linear Algebra course based on the integration of traditional and digital technologies (concordance coefficient W=0.87) has been proposed; 3) during the pedagogical experiment, the positive effect of the developed approach on educational results was proved (t=2.36; p<0.05). The presented conclusions deepen scientific understanding of the possibilities of mixed and hybrid education in universities, as well as open up prospects for the implementation of the solutions obtained in educational practice.
