Organizational and managerial mechanisms of pedagogical support for international students in a multicultural educational environment of the university

Abstract

The intensification of the processes of internationalization of higher education stimulates the need to develop effective management mechanisms for pedagogical support of international students. The analysis of modern research demonstrates the fragmentation of existing adaptation models and the lack of a systematic approach to managing these processes in a multicultural educational environment. The aim of the research is to develop and experimentally verify an organizational and managerial model of pedagogical support for international students, integrating administrative, psychological, pedagogical and socio-cultural components. The research methodology is based on system-activity, competence and cultural approaches. The empirical base is represented by a sample of 827 international students and 138 representatives of the administrative and teaching staff of 12 Russian universities. The research was implemented using a set of methods: structured interviews, psychodiagnostic testing, statistical and factor analysis, and formative experiment. The results indicate a pronounced correlation (r=0.78) between the effectiveness of adaptation of foreign students and the degree of integration of management mechanisms. The implementation of the developed model made it possible to reduce the period of primary adaptation by 36.4% and increase the academic performance of international students by 28.2%. The factor analysis revealed the key components of an effective organizational and management system: a coordination center with a matrix structure (load factor 0.83), integrated tutor support (0.76) and a multi-level monitoring system (0.71). The results obtained make it possible to significantly optimize the management processes of pedagogical support and suggest specific algorithms for the implementation of the developed mechanisms in the practice of higher education institutions.
