Abstract
The modern higher education system places increased demands on the linguistic competence of graduates of non-linguistic universities in the context of globalization and internationalization of professional communications. Teaching English in non-linguistic universities faces a complex of organizational, managerial and methodological problems that require a systematic solution. The purpose of the research is to develop and empirically verify an integrative management model for English language teaching in non-linguistic universities. The objectives of the study include: identification of key management factors for improving the effectiveness of language training, identification of the most effective approaches to organizing the educational process, and assessment of the impact of various management strategies on the quality of language training. The research methodology is based on a systematic approach and includes a set of complementary methods: an expert survey of university administration representatives (n=64), a survey of English teachers (n=183), monitoring of students' academic performance (n=1257), statistical analysis of the results of external testing. The empirical base consists of data obtained in 17 Russian non-linguistic universities of various profiles in the period 2020-2023. The results of the study indicate an increase in the indicators of students' language competence by 27.3% when implementing an integrative management model that includes elements of project-oriented, adaptive and distributed management. The correlation coefficient between the degree of implementation of the integrative model and the level of language competence of graduates was r=0.68 (p<0.01). It was found that the integration of digital management tools into the educational process helps to increase students' motivation by 32.5% and increase the volume of active language practice by 41.7%. The practical value of the research lies in the development of comprehensive management tools for educational program managers and university administrators aimed at optimizing language training and increasing the competitiveness of graduates.
