Abstract

Digitalization of education is transforming the didactic process, significantly affecting the quality of specialist training. In particular, within the framework of multi-semester disciplines such as Linear Algebra and Mathematical Analysis, the use of digital technologies can contribute to the development of students' self-organization and independent learning skills. The article analyzes the results of an empirical study, which examined the features of the digitalization of the educational process in these disciplines in a number of Russian universities in 2019-2023. The sample consisted of 587 undergraduate students in engineering and natural sciences. The methods of questionnaires, interviews, and analysis of digital traces of learning activity were used. It was found that the level of digitalization of courses significantly correlates with indicators of academic achievement (r=0.38; p<0.01) and students' self-effectiveness in learning (r=0.42; p<0.01). It was revealed that students who studied under the conditions of expanded use of digital technologies demonstrated, on average, 24% higher levels of autonomy in planning and implementing educational tasks. The pedagogical and organizational factors of effective use of the potential of digitalization in the development of self-organization and self-learning skills are discussed. The results obtained can be used in the design of educational programs and digital didactic environments in higher education.
