Abstract

The article deals with the possibilities of using authentic films as a means of forming students' communicative competence, the important component of which is the socio-cultural component. The authors underline that in the process of forming communicative competence, emphasis is placed not only on the language itself, but also on the foreign language culture of native speakers of this language. Their dialectical unity makes it possible to educate the internationally oriented personality who is aware of the interdependence and integrity of the world, the need for intercultural cooperation in solving global problems of humanity.
