Self-development of students' information activities in the context of the university's educational process

Abstract

One of the pressing problems of higher education, caused by the digitalization of all spheres of human activity, is the training of personnel for the domestic market. Employers are dissatisfied with university graduates, indicating that after graduation it is necessary to conduct additional training on the job. At the same time, most focus not on the lack of work experience, but on the lack of formation of soft skills, such as critical thinking, teamwork, self-organization and self-development. A review of scientific research confirms the identified problem, one of the reasons for which is the discrepancy between the traditional teaching methods implemented at the university and the adequate perception of modern students. The above confirms the relevance of the stated topic. In this article, the authors reveal and substantiate the concept of «self-development of information activities». Evidence is provided of the fact that at the present stage in higher education institutions, one of the main tasks is the need to create and ensure conditions for the self-development of students' information activities. And to obtain a successful result in the implementation of these processes, it is proposed to develop and implement a methodology based on two approaches – systemic and constructivist, and including components aimed at ensuring and improving the process of self-development of students' information activities in a university setting. The assertion is substantiated that in the context of modern conditions for universities, the priority goal is to form and maintain a favorable environment for self-development of students' information activities. To achieve positive results in the implementation of these initiatives, it is proposed to create and implement a methodological system based on the principles of systemic and constructivist approaches, which includes elements aimed at supporting and optimizing the process of self-development of students' information activities in a university setting.
