Psychological and pedagogical support for first-year students of a secondary professional educational institution during the adaptation period

Abstract

The transition from school to college is a difficult moment for many graduates, and not every teenager is able to adapt to the new environment and adjust on their own. Modern colleges are equipped with advanced technologies, but the importance of developing a well-rounded student personality lies in providing comprehensive support during the adaptation period. Therefore, the issue of personal adaptation is highly relevant today. This article examines the results of experimental work aimed at the successful course of the adaptation period for first-year students of a secondary vocational educational institution (SPE). The experiment was organized on the basis of South Yakut Technological College in Neryungri, namely in the first-year group OPiU-25(9) in the number of 17 people. The study included three stages: assessing the initial condition of the students, applying the developed Start in Profession program, and conducting a final diagnosis of the results. The Wilcoxon T-test was used for statistical analysis and to confirm the effectiveness of the developed program.
