Abstract

This paper analyzes the international mobility of university students using a unique set of data collected during surveys conducted at the Sapienza University of Rome. The collected data cover a wide range of information about the characteristics and origin of students, places of origin, family conditions, individual aspirations and preferences in choosing a job. The article reviews the literature in order to highlight the most important elements of the topic and better understand the phenomenon at the regional level. Empirical analysis of these data makes it possible to understand a significant part of the decisions on the mobility of (promising) highly qualified workers.
