The English language curriculum is of great importance in Russian schools. Oral communication skills, which include listening and speaking skills, form the basis of teaching English. They contribute to the acquisition of other language skills: reading and writing. The article considers the theory of social development and interaction of L. S. Vygotsky. L. S. Vygotsky's model of social development asserts that interaction with the surrounding culture and social agents, such as parents, teachers and more competent peers, make a significant contribution to the intellectual development of the child.
