Methods of teaching listening at a university based on web technologies

The article is devoted to the development and testing of methods of teaching listening at a university based on web technologies. The relevance of the research is due to the need to find new effective approaches to the formation of auditory skills among students in the context of digitalization of education. The purpose of the work is to theoretically substantiate, develop and experimentally test a methodology for developing listening skills based on the integrated use of web resources. The research used theoretical (analysis of scientific literature, modeling), empirical (pedagogical experiment, testing, questionnaire) and statistical (Student's t-test) methods. 85 students of the 1-2 courses of the language university took part in the pedagogical experiment. The results of the study showed that the proposed methodology contributes to a significant increase in the level of formation of auditory competence in comparison with traditional training. The average increase in the quality of test tasks in the experimental group was 28%, while in the control group it was only 11%. More than 75% of students positively assessed the use of web technologies in listening classes. The conclusion is made about the effectiveness of the developed methodology and the expediency of its implementation in the practice of teaching a foreign language at a university. The obtained results contribute to the development of the theory and methodology of teaching foreign languages. Further research may be aimed at testing the proposed approach in other language areas and levels of education.
