The development of foreign-language professional competencies among students of non-linguistic specialties is an urgent problem in the context of the internationalization of higher education and the globalization of the labor market. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate and experimentally test a model for the formation of foreign–language professional competence of future specialists at a technical university. The methodological basis of the work is based on a competence-based, communicative-activity and interdisciplinary approach. The empirical study included a pedagogical experiment (n=120), a survey of students (n=350), a survey of employers (n=30). The data was processed using mathematical statistics methods (Student's t-test, χ2). A structural and functional model for the development of foreign-language professional competence has been developed, integrating targeted, meaningful, technological and effective blocks. The positive dynamics of students' motivation and autonomy in language learning was revealed (p<0.01). The effectiveness of interdisciplinary projects, case studies and simulations for the development of key components of competence has been confirmed. Discussion. The research contributes to the theory of professionally oriented teaching of foreign languages, offering a comprehensive solution to the problem based on the integration of innovative technologies and techniques. The practical significance is associated with the possibility of replicating the model in the educational practice of technical universities. The prospects for further development of the problem are related to the study of the potential of digital technologies for the personalization of educational trajectories.
