Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of modern approaches to personnel training for the oil and gas sector in the context of global trends in sustainable development. Based on the analysis of scientific publications, key areas of modernization of educational programs have been identified: integration of the principles of sustainable development, emphasis on the formation of supra-professional competencies, strengthening project-based and practice-oriented learning. The empirical basis was based on the results of a survey of 120 teachers and 350 students from specialized universities in Russia and Kazakhstan. Differences in the perception of the importance of sustainable development factors by representatives of the academic community and students were revealed (p<0.01). Promising areas of transformation of the educational process have been identified: the introduction of interdisciplinary courses (supported by 78% of teachers), intensification of networking with business (65%), internationalization of programs (54%). The results obtained can serve as a basis for the modernization of personnel training systems, taking into account the challenges of sustainable development. Further research should focus on developing tools for assessing competencies in the field of sustainable development and analyzing best educational practices.
