The influence of game sports on the formation of communication skills in primary school children

Abstract
This study is devoted to the analysis of the impact of playing sports on the development of communicative competence in children aged 7-10 years. Based on a comprehensive diagnosis of 120 primary school students involved and not involved in team sports, using sociometry, questionnaires and observation, it was revealed that athletes demonstrate a significantly higher level of communication skills (p<0.01). Correlations were found between the experience of sports activity and the degree of communicative competence (r=0.42). It has been shown that sports activities contribute to the formation of empathy, cooperation, and non-verbal expression. The results obtained indicate the significant role of team sports in the development of social competence of younger schoolchildren and can be used to optimize the educational process. The prospects of the research are related to the analysis of the specifics of the influence of different sports and the development of programs for the formation of communication skills through sports activities.
