The causes of occupational deprivation and its place in personal self-determination

Abstract

Choosing a profession is an integral stage in the life of every member of society, not only the potential financial condition, but also the mental health of the individual depends on the correctness of this decision and the ability to implement it. The paper raises the problem of personal self-determination in an era of rapidly changing unstable labor markets and a set of sought-after professions. The mechanism of crisis perception of professional choice and reorientation is shown. The article describes the professional deprivation of working people on the path of self-determination when updating the profession regarding socio-economic needs and various personal incentives, as well as students who did not decide on their professional orientation in time, enrolled in an undesirable direction or realized during their studies their unwillingness to study in the chosen direction or the unclaimed position of the profession being mastered in the labor market. The importance of preventing and avoiding crisis situations in determining an individual's place in the educational and professional space is substantiated
