Abstract

This article defines concepts such as "information technology" and "computerization". The relevance of the article is to identify their content and functions in the modern educational process and scientific activity. The article discusses modern information systems and technologies used in science and education. The main trends and directions of information technology development, their impact on the educational process and scientific research are analyzed. It is proved that information technologies using computer modeling significantly increase the visibility of learning in all directions. Special attention is paid to such aspects as the use of cloud technologies, big data, artificial intelligence and online learning. Examples of successful implementation of information systems in educational institutions and scientific institutions are given, which contributes to improving the quality of education and the effectiveness of scientific research. The authors discuss the advantages and challenges associated with the integration of new technologies, as well as the prospects for their further development. The article also discusses the issues of training specialists who are able to effectively use modern information systems and technologies in their professional activities. Recommendations on optimizing the process of information technology implementation in educational and scientific institutions to achieve the best results are proposed.
