Open metadata

Metadata for every published article are available on its individual website page in Russian and English without registration or subscription. They include the title, abstract, keywords, full author names, affiliations with addresses, funding, cited references, bibliographic details, a unique publication identifier and a link to the full text.

Metadata are provided under CC0 1.0 Universal (https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/). To the extent of their authority, right holders waive copyright and related economic rights in metadata as far as legally possible; the CC0 fallback licence applies where necessary. Metadata may be collected, copied, distributed and reused, including commercially. Scholarly citation of the source is recommended but is not imposed as an additional CC0 licence restriction.

CC0 covers published metadata, including protected abstract elements to the extent of the rights granted. It does not automatically cover the article’s full text, illustrations, research data, non-public correspondence or the content of cited works. Moral rights, third-party rights and personal-data requirements remain applicable.

Each article page provides a separate download link for metadata in XML JATS version 1.1–1.4. The file contains the article metadata and a link to the full-text location where one exists; metadata rights and rights in the work itself are stated separately. The standard is documented by its developer (https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/archiving/1.4/).

Metadata errors should be reported to the journal’s email address. The editors check the report and agree necessary changes with the authors. Corrections are reflected on the article page, in XML and in updates supplied to external systems. Substantive changes to the scholarly content follow the corrections and retractions policy.
