Abstract

Today, digital technologies are helping solve healthcare problems worldwide. They are essential for achieving national strategic goals. The development of mobile health, electronic medical records, analytics, and telemedicine technologies is driving the evolution of medical personnel training. The need for medical graduates to understand new trends and opportunities in information technology support for medical practice has led not only to revisions of undergraduate curricula (primarily in the study of medical informatics) but also to the introduction of additional courses in the final years. Since 2017, KubSMU has been teaching the course «Administrative and Legal Regulation of Medical Practice». The «knowledge-skills-abilities» linkage characteristic of third-generation educational standards is currently being transformed into a new «knowledge-skills-attitudes» model. The emergence of these two new elements is driven by digital transformation: soft skills and AI literacy are in high demand in the labor market. Currently, there is no unified regulatory framework governing the active use of AI in education. For the high-quality and safe implementation of AI, it is necessary to establish ethical standards, ensure the transparency of algorithms, and improve the digital literacy of both students and faculty. The main goal of updating the course curricula is to flexibly respond to changes in the labor market, focus on the current needs of employers, and incorporate new advances in science and medicine. At KubSMU, the course curricula are reviewed and updated annually. This article provides an overview of examples of course curricula updates in line with trends in the technological transformation of healthcare.
