Abstract

The study actualizes the significance of the inclusion of startups as an innovative form of protection and presentation of graduate qualification works of various directions. A startup is a synthesis of theory and practice, which «at the exit» has a real social effect, useful for any professional field. At this stage of inclusion in the educational process, a startup is an initial business project that can later be implemented in the activities of a real enterprise or organization. When developing and defending their final qualifying work, students demonstrate the development of universal and special competencies, the ability to argue their point of view, and gain unique pre-professional experience. The teacher acts as a mentor and tutor, guiding the student in their activities and helping to adjust the content of their work. The unique collaboration between the student and the teacher results in the creation of a scientific and practical work that combines conceptual ideas, the author's perspective, and the experience of the developers. In this study, we have highlighted the relevance of this form of graduation thesis defense, despite its novelty, not only in universities but also in practical platforms where it is being tested. Additionally, by specifying the characteristics of startups, we can assess their effectiveness in achieving educational goals in higher education and promote the implementation of the most interesting projects.
