Development of a textbook on the language of a specialty based on lectures on international economics: methodological aspects

Abstract

The article describes the experience of creating and testing an economics textbook for 3rd-year Chinese students who study subjects in Russian while outside the language environment. The material on the subject was proposed by a specialist in the form of texts containing minimal information for future lectures. The developments ensuring the formation of language, speech and communicative competencies of students were created by teachers of Russian as a foreign language. The purpose of this article is to describe a manual on economics created for Chinese students studying at the Faculty of Economics at the joint Chinese-Russian University of Moscow State University in Shenzhen, to present the results of its testing, analyze difficulties, suggest ways to overcome them, and prove its effectiveness in shaping the language, speech, and communication competencies of students. To achieve this goal, it was necessary to solve the following tasks: first, to reveal the features of language teaching for special purposes at the university and at MSU-PPI in Shenzhen in particular; Secondly, to describe the structure of the manual; thirdly, to demonstrate the types of tasks according to the lectures of the subject teacher; fourthly, to identify the difficulties encountered by Chinese students in the process of learning from this manual, and to provide recommendations on how to overcome them.
