The concept of vocational education and the evolution of approaches to its development and regulation

Abstract

Vocational education is being reformed and improved in the context of changing environmental conditions, against the background of active digital transformation of the economy, all spheres of public life and public relations. New forms of vocational education, including online education, are becoming increasingly popular among students. It is known that about 60-70% of citizens prefer new forms of educational activity to traditional education. At the same time, in addition to basic vocational education, a system of additional training is being developed, within which every citizen can get an additional profession, take advanced training courses for a reasonable fee, without leaving their apartment or office. On the one hand, the new approach to the development of vocational education is characterized by a set of certain advantages for modern citizens. Among such positive aspects are savings in time and travel costs to the university (such costs are quite significant today), time savings as an important element of modern life, and more moderate online tuition fees. It seems possible to make a complete transition to a new format of professional training in the near future. It is indisputable that the structural transformations of the economic system require changes in all spheres of life, including approaches to the organization of professional activity, because it is the initial knowledge and skills acquired during training that play an important role in the future activities of a specialist. At the moment, the situation is as follows: serious changes, structural fluctuations and shifts have begun to occur in the sectors of the economy; At the same time, there is a shortage of human resources, since significant time potential is required to train competent specialists. In our opinion, fundamentally new approaches to the formation of the methodology of vocational education are required in relation to the training of specialists in any sectors of the national economy. An innovative approach should combine substantiating the role of digitalization of the educational process for all its participants, ensuring comprehensive, systematic interaction of educational institutions with business entities, promoting talented students, and supporting them in the implementation of entrepreneurial initiatives.
