A study on improving the digital competence of teachers of foreign languages at Kazakhstani universities in the context of the «One Belt, One Road» program

Abstract

The article examines the problem of improving the digital competence of teachers of foreign languages of Kazakhstani universities in the context of the «One Belt, One Road» program. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to adapt teaching staff to the digital transformation of higher education and the requirements of international academic cooperation. The author proposes a three-level model for the development of digital competencies that integrates technological, methodological and organizational aspects of professional activity. The model is based on the principles of continuous professional development and takes into account the specifics of teaching foreign languages, as well as the requirements of international educational projects. Special attention is paid to the mechanisms for implementing the model, including a system of microqualifications, practice-oriented professional development formats and the creation of digital pedagogical communities. The theoretical significance of the research lies in a systematic approach to the digitalization of linguodidactics, and the practical value lies in the possibility of adapting the model to the conditions of various universities in Kazakhstan.
