Abstract

Modern higher legal education is undergoing a qualitative transformation under the influence of accelerated digitalization of society and the rapid growth of the role of artificial intelligence in professional training. In the context of the active introduction of intelligent systems, new educational and practical realities are emerging, in which virtual and augmented realities become integral tools for training law enforcement officers. Immersive technologies allow for the simulation of complex law enforcement and procedural situations, the reproduction of legal procedures and the practice of law enforcement, providing students with interactive interaction with evidence and decision-making processes. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the potential of immersive technologies and educational scenarios for their application in the training programs for future employees of law enforcement agencies and the judicial system, which will improve the quality of their information and legal professionalism, ensure the effective functioning of their training system in the context of digital transformation, and enhance the efficiency of decision-making in real-life law enforcement situations. The phenomenological approach was used as the methodological basis of this work, which allowed for a deeper understanding of the nature of visual experience within the framework of immersive technologies, particularly through the use of the phenomenon of «immersion» as a bodily and affective immersion in a perceived environment, and its role in shaping the information and legal competencies of future law enforcement professionals. Among the leading immersive technologies considered from the perspective of their applicability in the training of future law enforcement professionals, virtual and augmented reality are of particular importance. The article highlights software solutions that can be used as an effective tool for developing information and legal competencies in future law enforcement professionals. These include immersive VR games that simulate court proceedings, judicial simulation platforms, immersive investigative experiment technologies, virtual programs that simulate the crime scene or forensic work, the interactive virtual reality application «Nuremberg: VRdict of the Peoples» and more.
