Abstract

This article identifies areas for the development of modern research on digitalization in the educational environment. Key characteristics of the digitalization of education are analyzed: globalization, individualization, interactivity, and access to information. It also provides an analysis of the positive and negative impact of digital technologies on the transformation of educational strategies and teaching methods, the risks of digitalization of the educational process, and the diminishing role of the teacher. The professional competencies required of teachers in the context of the digitalization of modern education are examined from a practical perspective.The results of a survey conducted in December 2024 – January 2025 among 254 teachers in Moscow and the Moscow region on the use of a competency-based approach in methodological and technological training for working with digital tools are presented.
