Abstract

Developing students’ competence of introducing Chinese culture is a new objective in foreign language education. In order to adapt to the reform requirements of foreign language education in colleges and universities in the context of the new liberal arts, it is particularly important to explore innovative teaching models integrated with students’ competence of introducing Chinese culture. Based on this, this paper takes a university in Xinjiang as an example, selects College English Course as the research object, and constructs an OBE teaching model which aims at developing students’ competence of introducing Chinese culture. The teaching model is expected to provide enlightenment for the cultivation of international communication talents. The model comprises three interrelated components – design, implementation and evaluation – and is carried out through blended learning that combines online and offline work before, during and after class. Its distinctive features are the joint development of Chinese culture learning resources by teachers and students, the creation of a cognitively and emotionally supportive learning environment, and the design of production-oriented learning activities. The effectiveness of the model is to be verified in two cycles of implementation by means of questionnaires, interviews, observation, case and material analysis, and a comparison between the experimental and the control groups.
