Abstract

The article examines the possibilities of personalizing students’ physical education through artificial intelligence technologies (hereinafter referred to as AI) and wearable digital devices. The relevance of the study is determined by considerable differences in students’ levels of physical fitness, health status, motor experience, and motivation. The orientation of educational activities toward averaged group indicators limits the possibilities for regulating physical load and complicates the timely adjustment of students’ individual progress. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate a model for personalizing students’ physical education based on the integrated use of artificial intelligence and wearable digital devices. The research materials comprise Russian and international scientific publications devoted to the individualization of physical education, the application of AI in physical culture, digital monitoring, and the use of wearable devices in educational practice. The study reveals the content of personalized physical education, characterizes the functions of wearable devices and AI, and determines the role of the teacher in interpreting digital data and making pedagogical decisions. A model is proposed that integrates the collection of physical activity data, their intelligent processing, pedagogical interpretation, the development of personalized physical loads, task performance, repeated monitoring, and the subsequent refinement of training sessions. Requirements for data reliability, personal data protection, teachers’ digital competence, and students’ conscious participation are identified. It is established that the effectiveness of personalization depends on a pedagogically substantiated distribution of functions among wearable devices, AI, the teacher, and the student. The study concludes that the proposed model can be applied to improve pedagogical control, enhance feedback, and manage students’ physical load in the process of physical education.
