Abstract

The article examines the main trends in medical education related to the formation of the physician’s ethical culture in the context of the medicine of the future. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that the digitalization of healthcare, the introduction of artificial intelligence, the development of personalized and genomic medicine, as well as the expansion of remote forms of medical care, significantly transform the content of physicians’ professional activity and increase the importance of its ethical dimension. The aim of the article is to provide a theoretical understanding of the essence of the physician’s ethical culture, to identify the new ethical challenges of the medicine of the future, and to determine the priority directions for the development of medical education in its ethical and humanitarian dimension. It is argued that contemporary medical education is developing toward a transition from fragmented teaching of ethics to the systematic formation of the physician’s professional personality, including value-based training, the development of reflective thinking, patient-centeredness, interprofessional interaction, and readiness for responsible decision-making in the context of technologically complex medical practice.
