Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of digitalization on students' learning motivation in the context of foreign language education. The introduction substantiates the relevance of the problem, emphasizing the penetration of digital technologies into all spheres of life and their potential to increase interest in learning foreign languages through interactivity and visual appeal. At the same time, risks are noted, such as possible distraction and the need to take into account the individual characteristics of students and teachers' readiness for new formats. The research methods focus on the principle of a reasonable balance between traditional pedagogical approaches and modern digital resources. The role of mobile applications and online platforms in creating an interactive environment that allows students to choose the pace and complexity of assignments is emphasized. An important aspect is the personalization of the learning process using digital tools that adapt content to the individual needs and goals of students, which helps to increase responsibility and confidence. The results of the study demonstrate the multidimensional positive impact of digitalization. The integration of game mechanics (gamification) significantly increases engagement and interest in regular practice. The digital environment provides flexibility and a variety of forms of interaction (online consultations, videoconferences, group projects), reducing psychological barriers and facilitating communication. There is an expansion of the cultural context through access to authentic materials (podcasts, social networks), which increases motivation for real communication. Digital tools also promote information hygiene, critical thinking, and introspection skills through progress tracking. Increasing the digital competence of teachers and their ability to combine technology with live communication is recognized as an important condition for success. The conclusion confirms that digitalization is a significant factor in the growth of educational motivation in learning foreign languages. The key advantages are the balance of online/offline formats, personalization options, instant feedback, access to cultural context, and preparation for real-world communication scenarios. It is emphasized that the maximum effect is achieved with competent pedagogical support that takes into account the individual characteristics of students and ensures methodically sound use of technology without prejudice to the fundamental aspects of language learning.
