Ensemble music making as a medium of professional interaction

Abstract

This article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of ensemble playing on brass instruments as an effective pedagogical environment for the formation of professional interaction among future music teachers in Chinese pedagogical universities. Ensemble playing is considered not only as a performance practice, but also as a multi-component educational model in which students' musical-technical, communicative, emotional, and organizational skills are developed simultaneously. Particular attention is paid to the process of developing communication skills, including the ability to listen to partners, coordinate artistic decisions, take into account the timbre and dynamic features of the overall texture, and regulate one's own emotional state in the context of collective performance. The article reveals the mechanisms of interaction between students in an ensemble, demonstrating how the distribution of initiative, attention to non-verbal signals, flexibility of interpretation, and readiness for collective responsibility affect the quality of sound and the professional growth of participants. It is shown that ensemble music-making creates unique conditions for the development of skills of cooperation, support, constructive dialogue, and reflection, which are key to future teaching activities. A special role is assigned to the teacher, who guides the development of independence, creative initiative, and the ability of students to analyze their own contribution to the overall result. It is concluded that ensemble music-making contributes to the formation of a well-rounded professional image of a future music teacher who meets modern educational requirements.
