Linguastep: a digital platform for overcoming the language barrier among international students

Abstract

The article discusses the digital Linguastep platform, designed to overcome the language barrier of foreign students studying in a foreign language. The concept of the platform is explored, based on the integration of systemic, axiological and participatory approaches, which makes it possible to provide holistic support to students in the process of their academic and socio-cultural adaptation. The key functionality of the platform is described, including automated analysis of language difficulties, individualized construction of learning trajectories, development of academic writing, oral speech and mastering professional terminology. Linguastep is focused on creating personalized dictionaries and using a multilingual interface, which expands its applicability for students with different levels of language training. Special attention is paid to the role of the platform in the context of supporting student communities and university mentoring programs. It is emphasized that the use of Linguastep contributes to the effective reduction of the language barrier, the formation of sustainable academic competencies and the successful integration of international students into the educational environment.
