Abstract
This study explores the integration of functional stylistics principles into Kazakh language pedagogy within the context of intercultural communication. By examining the systematized approaches to language teaching through stylistic differentiation, the research addresses the critical gap between linguistic competence and authentic communicative abilities in non-native Kazakh speakers. The methodological framework combines linguocultural, functional-semantic, and communicative approaches to develop a comprehensive pedagogical model that reflects the multifaceted nature of the Kazakh language in various communicative contexts. Through a mixed-methods research design involving 127 language learners and 18 educators across five Kazakhstani universities, the study analyzes how stylistic awareness enhances learners' intercultural competence. Statistical analysis demonstrates that experimental groups trained through functionally-oriented techniques demonstrated significantly higher performance in cross-cultural communication tasks (p<0.001) compared to control groups. The results indicate that functional stylistics significantly contributes to learners' ability to navigate culturallybound situations and linguistic phenomena unique to the Kazakh language. The integration of these principles addresses the growing need for culturally responsive language teaching methodologies in Kazakhstan's increasingly internationalized educational landscape. This research provides a theoretical foundation and practical implications for curriculum developers and language educators seeking to foster authentic intercultural communication competencies through a stylistically-informed approach to Kazakh language teaching.
