Theoretical foundations for improving the competencies of teachers in interacting with adolescents from subcultures in the process of civic education of students

Abstract

The article presents a summary of the results of the work devoted to improving the competencies of teachers in the field of interaction with adolescents from various subcultures. The study confirmed that special pedagogical conditions can significantly increase the subcultural literacy of both teachers and parents, which, in turn, contributes to more effective communication with adolescents in the process of civic education. The importance of understanding the peculiarities of adolescent subcultures for teachers is emphasized. Several key

conditions have been identified that contribute to improving subcultural literacy: the need for continuous training and advanced training of teachers, support from the administration of educational institutions, and the involvement of parents in the educational process. Based on the data obtained, a training course program for teachers and parents called «Adolescent subcultures» was developed. The program includes theoretical and practical modules covering not only the basics of subcultural literacy, but also methods of effective interaction with adolescents. Course participants learn how to recognize and respect the individual characteristics of adolescents, as well as how to create an inclusive and supportive educational environment. The course also includes an analysis of real-world cases, which allows teachers and parents to better understand how to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. An important aspect of the program is the development of active listening and empathy skills that help build trusting relationships with teenagers.
