Practical use of phonetic games at the initial stage of learning English

Abstract

The psychophysiological characteristics of the child have indicated the need for the formation of phonetic skills precisely at primary school age, since this period is characterized by the active formation of all cognitive processes of the child. Timely corrected pronunciation and intonation increase the possibility of high-quality language learning. In this article, we have outlined the importance and role of the process of phonological skills formation in the process of learning a foreign language, defined the basic concept of phonetic play and outlined its main functions in the study. During the analysis of the practical material, it was revealed that the formation of correct pronunciation depends solely on the correct formation of articulation and intonation skills, which corresponds to the norms of the language being studied. The article also notes that this process should take place at the initial stage of learning, as it is the basis for further development of language material.
