Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the aspects of the educational potential of students’ personalities. The main structural components of the educational potential of an individual are noted, and the relationship between the educational potential of an individual and the personal potential of a person is analyzed. Personal potential is considered as a holistic system of basic regulators that contribute to the realization of a person’s capabilities. It includes the following components: resilience as the ability to adapt to changes and overcome life’s challenges; self-regulation as a conscious and regulated state; self-change as the conscious decision to make changes; and action orientation as the initiative to carry out an intention. The relevance of studying the personal potential of young people (students) responds to the challenges of the modern world. In a situation of uncertainty, students are faced with a choice: to be active and become the subject of their own life, or to take a passive stance towards their life path. The ability of a person to act on the basis of stable internal criteria, maintain the stability of their values, and function effectively in the face of external pressure and changes is important in today’s world. This experimental study aims to explore the concepts of resilience and autonomy as fundamental indicators of personal potential. The results of the study indicate that a higher number of respondents exhibit moderate levels of resilience, while their autonomy is proportionally represented at both moderate and high levels. The correlation analysis of the indicators confirmed the direct proportional relationship between the indicators of resilience and personality autonomy. The relationship between resilience and autonomous functioning of the respondents’ personalities allows us to conclude that resilience and autonomous functioning are a single functional complex that underlies the educational potential of students’ personalities.
