Abstract

In the modern world, where cultures constantly interact, foreign language proficiency is primarily the ability to communicate effectively with representatives of other nations. Russian, being one of the key languages of international dialogue, requires us, teachers, to look for new approaches that take into account the cultural characteristics of our students. Unfortunately, the traditional teaching methods of the Russian language often focus on memorizing rules and vocabulary, leaving out the development of skills of lively intercultural communication. As a result, students often experience difficulties when they get into a real language environment. That is why the search and development of innovative learning models based on the principles of intercultural communication is becoming particularly relevant today. In this article, we will look at how the theory of intercultural communication can enrich the teaching of the Russian language. After analyzing the weaknesses of the traditional approach, we propose a new learning model. Its essence lies in the simultaneous development of both language skills and cultural awareness. We actively use methods such as situational modeling, role-playing games, and case analysis to teach students how to adapt to different situations and communicate effectively. In addition, modern information technologies, from online platforms to virtual reality, help us create a rich and interactive educational environment. Our experience shows that this approach really works. Students not only learn the language better, but also begin to better understand the cultural traditions of Russian-speaking countries. By comparing cultures, immersing themselves in real-life situations and working with a variety of educational materials, they learn to speak more appropriately and flexibly build their communication. We hope that our research will offer colleagues fresh ideas and become a practical guide in the work on the formation of intercultural competence among future specialists.
