Abstract

The flipped classroom model is one of the modern active learning methods that promotes active participation, creativity, and student initiative. In foreign language teaching, the flipped classroom changes the traditional process: students independently study new material (vocabulary, grammar) at home using videos and other materials and then use class time for discussions, practicing communication skills, and answering questions under the teacher’s guidance. This optimizes interaction time and comprehensively develops skills. This model is student-centered and improves interactions between teachers and students. The purpose of this article is to examine the results of blended learning research around the world and present the application of the flipped classroom model in teaching specialized Russian in Vietnam, including the implementation stages and the achieved results. The initial pilot application of the flipped learning model in teaching specialized Russian at Vietnam National Technical University named after Le Quy Don contributed to student engagement and increased their enthusiasm for learning, contributing to innovation in teaching methods, improving learning efficiency, and developing students’ language skills.
