The phenomenon of the concept of civic identity in pedagogical science

Abstract

The article examines the issue of the concept of civic identity, as well as the process of forming a civic identity among college students. The article examines the phenomenon of the concept of civic identity in the context of pedagogical science. Civic identity is a complex multi-level education that reflects an individual's awareness of their belonging to society and the state, as well as acceptance of civic values and norms. In the context of globalization and socio-cultural transformations, the formation of civic identity is becoming an important aspect of the educational process. The author analyzes various approaches to the definition of civic identity, explores its structure and components, such as civic awareness, social responsibility, patriotism and tolerance. Special attention is paid to the role of education in the development of civic identity among the younger generation. The article discusses pedagogical methods and technologies that contribute to the effective formation of students' citizenship, including project activities, volunteerism, and participation in social and environmental initiatives. In addition, the challenges and contradictions associated with the formation of civic identity in modern society are discussed: the influence of information technology, media, cultural diversity and global trends. The author emphasizes the need to integrate the efforts of the family, school and community to create favorable conditions for the development of civic identity. In conclusion, conclusions are drawn about the importance of civic identity as the basis for the sustainable development of society and recommendations are offered for teachers and researchers to further study and implement effective civic education practices in the educational system.
