В статье представлено краткое рассмотрение особенностей древнейших германских письменных памятников для последующего использования в качестве дополнительного дидактического материала на занятиях по истории немецкого языка. Поскольку письменность, по мнению большинства филологов, является самым надежным источником сведений о языке, анализ имеющихся в распоряжении исследователей сохранившихся артефактов позволяют составлять с определенной долей объективности представление о лексике и грамматическом строе языка того или иного периода изучаемого социума, в частности при изучении истории немецкого языка. При этом приходится учитывать, что почти каждый письменный памятник такого рода может отличаться специфической орфографией и фонетическими особенностями. Поиску оптимального выхода из подобной ситуации посвящено данное исследование.

Since writing, according to most philologists, is the most reliable source of information about the language, the analysis of the surviving artifacts at the disposal of researchers allows us to make, with a certain degree of objectivity, an idea of the vocabulary and grammatical structure of the language of a particular period of the studied society, in particular when studying the history of the German language. At the same time, one has to take into account that almost every written monument of this kind can differ in specific spelling and phonetic features. This study is devoted to the search for an optimal way out of such a situation.
