Selecting a violinist's educational repertoire is an important part of the educational process. Despite the richness of classical music, for the comprehensive development of future violinists it is essential to include contemporary works in the educational repertoire. This article analyzes the current state of violin repertoire selection in music educational institutions in China. It concludes that when selecting repertoire, teachers should carefully consider students' technical development, providing them with works that develop a sense of beauty, analytical skills, phrasing, and an understanding of the characteristics of different composers from different eras and styles.
