Раскрыта сущность процесса формирования здорового образа жизни в студенческой среде. Сформирована структура мотивов, побуждающих студентов заниматься физической культурой и спортом и проведена апробация результатов исследований на конкретном примере в соответствии с данной структурой. Сегодня одной из основных стратегических задач образования является воспитание молодежи в духе ответственного отношения к собственному здоровью и здоровью окружающих, как к высшей индивидуальной и общественной ценности. Проблематика укрепления здоровья все чаще признается одной из приоритетных отраслей научного знания, и по своей практической значимости и актуальности является одной из сложнейших проблем современных наук: медицины, психологии, педагогики. В последнее время особую актуальность приобретает проблема студенческого здоровья. Современная молодежь живет и развивается в эпоху социально-экономических и политических перемен, кризисных условий ХХI века, что способствует росту асоциальных явлений среди студентов, таких как наркомания, курение, алкоголизм, что разрушающе влияет на здоровье. В связи с этим, проблема здоровья студентов является приоритетной проблемой современности, где актуализируются вопросы укрепления здоровья, здорового образа жизни, формирования у студентов мотивации к укреплению здоровья.
